The Purpose

To love this earth, and life and friends, perfecting the Great Work that never ends. In peace the Circle Temple we build, as each becomes what each wills.

Well, that's "the purpose" of Willow Lodge. The purpose of this site is to share with you some of what we've done. This page is laid out like the sabbat pages - so its divisions willl make more sense when you see them.

The Myth

Once upon a time, back in the last century, a witch thought it would be a good idea to fill her home and yard with interesting people, stir them vigorously,(mostly deosil, but a little widdershins, too) and see what would result. Little did she know how many pleasures would be in that mix. Over the years a variety of strange and wonderful friends came and went, while the strangest and wonderfulest stayed around to help with the stirring. And they brought creativity, warmth, silliness, support, wisdom and song with them. Many blessings flowed as they practiced the ancient rites, renewing them each season with clarity of vision and lightness of heart. When she sat quietly in the changing light of dawn and dusk (especially then, because she was really a crepuscular sort), the witch could feel the peace coming up out of the grass that had been danced upon, and down out of the trees that had been laughed under. And it was at these time she knew that all the most precious treasures of that circle, that temple, that well-blessed backyard, were creating themselves in that and every moment, each according to their own unique wonderfulness of purpose. And so she lived to be a happy old witch, and wished the same for all who would wish it for themselves.
